Terrific Travis Blackley

Australian left-handed pitcher Travis Blackley (pictured above) has capped off his 2012 regular season with a win against the hard hitting Texas Rangers. The Aussie pitching duo consisting of Blackley and Grant Balfour are off to the playoffs as members of an Oakland A's team, which has proven that massive team payrolls doesn't buy wins, and the potential of wise Moneyball is no fluke. Both Aussies have made valuable contributions toward the success of the club, yet Blackley's season has been enjoyable and inspiring to watch. He finished the regular season with six wins and four losses and an earned run average of 4.10, pitching a total of 107.2 innings. Blackley has confirmed that he is right at home in the Majors, and his confidence appears to grow with each challenge he is presented with.
