Sam Worthington has had one of the most substantial rises in Hollywood of any current Australian actor. In the year 2000 Worthington (pictured above) was introduced to film viewers when he starred with Adam Garcia in the Australian movie Bootmen. This was followed by a minor role in the American film Hart's War, in 2002, which starred Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell, and during the same year the Australian film Dirty Deeds. Worthington continued to accumulate film credits throughout the 2000s, but 2009 was his year when he starred in Terminator Salvation and Avatar. Worthington is also set to reprise his role as Jake Sully in Avatar 2 and 3. It would seem that he is on track to become a megastar in Hollywood, which is a journey that began as a National Institute of Dramatic Art scholarship winner.
