Eric Bana

During the 1990s Eric Bana (pictured above) became known to Australian television viewers as a comedian, appearing in the comedy shows Full Frontal and The Eric Bana Show Live. The casting of Bana as ex-criminal Mark Brandon "Chopper" Read in the Australian film Chopper, took some by surprise. However, Read acknowledges that comedians are excellent impersonators, and are able to better adopt the persona of the people they play. Bana also transformed himself physically with a considerable weight gain. His first Hollywood appearance was in the film Black Hawk Down. He has subsequently established himself as more of an action genre actor in the U.S., with other works that include: Troy and Munich. He has proven his capability in dramatic roles by playing King Henry the VIII of England in The Other Boleyn Girl. He also introduced his comedy skills to Hollywood when he appeared in Funny People with Adam Sandler. Bana has considerable range as an actor, and he continues to support the Australian Film Industry. His Australian works also includes: The Castle, The Nugget, Romulus My Father, and Love the Beast.
