Philadelphia Phillies: Aussie Phils

The Philadelphia Phillies have established a strong presence in Australia during the last ten years in particular. Australians have played within the Phillies Farm System as far back as the 1980's though, such as Sydney catcher Gary White from 1987 to 1988. Aussies Brad Harman and Chris Snelling both played Major League Baseball with the Phillies in 2008, and Queensland pitcher Drew Naylor is a top prospect within their Farm System. The Phillies generally have about five Aussies within their farm system which is consist for the 2011 season too. During the last three to five years the Phillies have rivaled the Minnesota Twins for the highest number of Australian signed players. Nathan Davison is scouting for the Phillies in Australia, and it is likely that the number of Aussies within their farm system will continue to rise.
