As a film director, Australian George Miller (pictured above) has displayed outstanding range with his work. From the post apocalypse Mad Max Trilogy, to a fun loving pig named Babe and a sequel film, to the animated hits Happy Feet I and II. For me Mad Max II and III are personal favourites. The idea of the fragile existence of the human race, fighting for finite resources in lawless societies, captivated my attention. The set design and costumes were brilliant too. There is strong talk of a fourth Mad Max, and production for it may begin in 2012. It has been stated that Mel Gibson won't be part of the latest installment, but the sentimental side of me doesn't like to part ways with tradition. There was perhaps an apprehension from Miller of potentially typecasting himself with the Mad Max works, yet he has clearly achieved tremendously across many genres. It is interesting to note that Miller is also a qualified medical doctor.
